• Regular class days
• Community leaders as guest speakers.
• Lessons on leadership, character, role-modeling, facilitation skills,working with different generations, importance of community collaboration.
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Typically two of these days are spent outside the classroom where the students are engaged in service which consists of youth mentoring and tutoring, visits to area
senior centers or nursing homes, and/or work with existing service agencies located in close proximity to the high school. One day/week is use for planning and initiating
service projects within the school and community. These service projects can either be conducted by individual students or in small groups.
Fridays
• Day of reflection and sharing of the weeks service activities.
• What worked? Modifications for next week’s service.
• Sharing of service project ideas.
**Guided student reflection is a critical element of the
Teen Leadership Corps program, and is strongly
encouraged for the TLC instructor.
